Stress is a feeling of intense physical upheaval. It causes anxiety, so much so that 70% of American adults report feeling stress and anxious. The body’s reaction to stress causes an excessive production of hormones which causes muscles to seize up, increase heart rate and pump adrenaline into the person’s system.
Depression is defined as a persistent sense of sadness, gloominess and moodiness which persists for at least 2 weeks. Someone with depression will slowly begin loosing interest in their favorite activities. It’s normal, as humans, for everyone to have down and gloomy days however in the case of depression this is not just a passing or fleeting feeling.
